In establishing the Master Business License Program, the Council recognized
the need to have adequate funds to maintain the Business License Center, keep
abreast of changes in technology, and maintain adequate staffing levels. To this
end, the Omnibus Regulatory Reform Acts of 1999 established two additional
costs, in addition to existing license fees. The total cost of a Master Business
License is calculated using the following fees:
-
Existing Fee
-
Master Business License Fee
-
Endorsement Fee
Existing Fees:
In the table below, you will find the existing fees for business licenses. To
determine the total cost of your Master Business License, first identify the
type of business or business activity you are or plan to engage in. The
corresponding fee is shown. The fees shown are for a two-year period. If you
require a Master Business License, Class B and the type of business is not one
of the "specific" categories shown on the Master Business License B
List (refer to Part II of this Tutorial), there is no existing fee to pay.
Master Business License Fees:
The Master Business License fee is $25.00 if you are submitting a new
application. The Master Business License Fee for license renewals is $15.00.
Applicants for Both Master Business License, Class A and B must pay the Master
Business License fee.
Endorsement Fees:
A $5.00 fee is charged for each endorsement category. For example, an
applicant who is applying for a Grocery Store (Endorsement Category: Public
Health - Food Establishment Retail) may want to sell varsol (Endorsement
Category: Environmental Materials) and operate two mechanical amusement machines
(Endorsement Category: Entertainment). The applicant would owe a total of $15.00
for the endorsement categories. In all, the applicant for the grocery store
would owe the following for a two-year period:
